Acceptable Use Policy

1. What this policy is for

This policy sets out what you may and may not do when you use anything we provide - our website, our AI programmes, and the ivee prompt improver application.

It forms part of our Website Terms of Use, our Programme Terms and Conditions and our App Terms of Service. Breaching it is a breach of those agreements.

In this policy, "our Services" means our website, our programmes, our application and anything else we provide. "you" means anyone using them.

2. The short version

Use our Services lawfully and decently. Do not put other people's personal or confidential information into our application. Do not use our Services to build something harmful, deceptive or illegal. Do not use our Services to compete with us. Treat other participants with respect.

The rest of this policy is the detail.

3. General prohibitions

You must not use our Services:

1. in any way that breaks any applicable law or regulation, whether in the UK or elsewhere;

2. for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or malicious purpose;

3. to harm or attempt to harm anyone, in any way;

4. to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or reuse material that does not comply with section 4;

5. to transmit unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional material, spam or any other form of similar solicitation;

6. to transmit any data or material containing a virus, trojan, worm, keystroke logger, spyware, adware or any other harmful program or code;

7. in a way that could damage, disable, overburden or impair our Services or interfere with anyone else's use of them;

8. to gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, accounts or data, or those of anyone else.

4. Content standards

These standards apply to everything you submit to our Services, contribute in a programme session, or post in any community space we run. They apply to each part of a contribution as well as to the whole.

Contributions must be accurate where they state facts, genuinely held where they state opinions, and must comply with the law of England and Wales and of any country from which they are posted.

A contribution must not:

1. be defamatory of any person, or maliciously false;

2. be obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;

3. bully, insult, intimidate, harass, alarm, distress or humiliate any person;

4. promote or facilitate discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or age;

5. be sexually explicit, or promote sexually explicit material;

6. promote, incite or facilitate violence, terrorism or any other criminal activity;

7. infringe any copyright, database right, trade mark, design right or other intellectual property right of any person;

8. breach any legal duty owed to a third party, including a duty of confidence or a contractual obligation;

9. be likely to deceive any person, or impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;

10. contain any personal data or special category data relating to a third party, save where you are lawfully entitled to disclose it to us and section 5 does not prohibit it;

11. threaten, abuse or invade another person's privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;

12. give the impression that it comes from us, or is endorsed by us, when it does not;

13. advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as copyright infringement or computer misuse.

5. Personal and confidential information - please do not

This section matters more than any other, and it applies particularly to our application.

Do not submit personal data about other people. Our application is a tool for improving prompts. It is not a safe place for information about identifiable individuals. You must not submit:

1. names, contact details, identifiers or any other personal data relating to anyone other than yourself, whether that is a colleague, a customer, a candidate, a client or a member of the public;

2. special category data as defined in the UK GDPR - information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric data, health data, or data about a person's sex life or sexual orientation;

3. criminal offence data;

4. data relating to children;

5. financial account details, payment card numbers, national insurance numbers, passport numbers or similar identifiers, whether yours or anyone else's;

6. login credentials, API keys, access tokens or secrets;

7. patient records, employee records, candidate CVs, or any other record about an identified person.

Do not submit confidential information you are not authorised to disclose. This includes trade secrets, unpublished financial information, material subject to legal professional privilege, information covered by a non-disclosure agreement, and anything your employer's own AI policy prohibits you from putting into a third-party tool.

Anonymise first. If you need to work with a real scenario, strip out the identifying details before you submit it. Use placeholders.

Why we are strict about this. If personal data about a third party reaches us through your prompt, we have no relationship with that person, no way to tell them we hold their data, and no practical way to honour their rights of access, correction or deletion. That puts them at risk and puts you in breach of your own obligations as a controller.

If it happens anyway, tell us at hello@ivee.jobs and we will locate and delete it.

6. Rules specific to the prompt improver application

You must not use the application to:

1. generate content that breaches section 4;

2. generate content designed to deceive, defraud or manipulate any person, including phishing messages, fake reviews, impersonation of real people, or disinformation;

3. generate content intended to be passed off as human-written where doing so would be dishonest or would breach a rule you are subject to, including academic and professional integrity rules;

4. develop malware, exploits, or techniques for gaining unauthorised access to systems;

5. seek or produce advice that should come from a qualified professional - legal, medical, financial, tax or safety advice - for use without professional review;

6. generate content relating to weapons, explosives, dangerous chemical or biological agents, or other material capable of causing serious physical harm;

7. generate sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises a minor, in any context whatsoever;

8. attempt to extract, reverse engineer or reconstruct our prompt libraries, system prompts, templates or underlying model instructions;

9. attempt to bypass, jailbreak or manipulate any safety measure or content filter, whether ours or those of the underlying model provider;

10. benchmark, evaluate or test the application for the purpose of building or improving a competing product;

11. resell, sub-licence or provide access to the application as a service to anyone else;

12. submit prompts at a volume, rate or pattern inconsistent with normal individual use, or use scripts, bots or other automated means to access it.

6.1 Restrictions from our AI provider

Our application uses an AI model provided by Anthropic. Your use of the application must also comply with Anthropic's usage policies, which are published at anthropic.com/legal/aup. We are contractually required to pass these restrictions on to you. Where Anthropic's policy prohibits something this policy does not mention, Anthropic's policy still applies to you.

7. Rules specific to programmes

When you attend a programme:

1. Respect other participants. Programmes involve people talking candidly about their organisations, their teams and sometimes their mistakes. That only works if people feel safe.

2. Keep what you hear confidential. Do not repeat, publish, post or otherwise share what another participant says about their organisation outside the programme.

3. Do not record. Do not record, screenshot, screen-capture, transcribe or livestream any session, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission. Where we make an official recording, we will tell you.

4. Do not bring AI notetakers into sessions without telling us in advance and getting our agreement. Other participants have a right to know when they are being recorded.

5. Your place is yours. Do not share joining links or credentials, and do not let anyone else attend in your place except through the formal substitution process in our Programme Terms.

6. Do not sell or solicit. Programmes are not a sales opportunity. Do not use participant contact details for marketing.

7. Do not use programme materials to compete with us. See section 17 of our Programme Terms.

8. Data scraping, mining and AI training

You must not, without our prior written permission:

1. use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler or other automated means to access, copy or extract any part of our Services or their content;

2. compile, aggregate or create any dataset, database or index from our content;

3. use our content, materials or the output of our Services to train, fine-tune, evaluate or develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model;

4. use our content to generate derivative works for commercial distribution.

This is an express reservation of rights for the purposes of copyright and database right law, including any text and data mining exception.

9. Suspension and termination

We decide in the first instance whether you have breached this policy. We will always explain our reasoning and consider representations from you, and you can challenge our decision through our Complaints and Dispute Resolution Policy, including the right to have it reviewed by a director. Nothing in this policy affects your right to go to a regulator or to a court.

Where we conclude you have breached this policy, we may take any of the following actions, in proportion to the seriousness of the breach:

1. issue a warning;

2. remove or refuse to publish the offending content;

3. suspend your access to our Services temporarily;

4. withdraw your access permanently;

5. remove you from a programme, with or without refund depending on the circumstances and your legal rights;

6. close your account;

7. take legal action against you, including seeking recovery of all costs on an indemnity basis where you are a business;

8. disclose information to law enforcement authorities where we reasonably believe it is necessary, or where we are required to.

Where you are a consumer, we will act proportionately and will not withhold a refund you are legally entitled to. We will normally give you notice and an opportunity to put things right, unless the breach is serious enough that immediate action is necessary - for example where there is a risk of harm to another person, unlawful content, or a security threat.

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the liabilities we never exclude as set out in our Website Terms of Use, Programme Terms and Conditions and App Terms of Service, we are not liable for the actions we reasonably take in response to a breach of this policy.

The actions above are not exhaustive, and we may take any other action we reasonably consider appropriate.

10. Reporting a problem

If you see something on our Services that breaches this policy, or if someone is behaving badly in a programme, tell us:

Include what you saw, where, and when. We take reports seriously and will investigate. We will not disclose your identity to the person you reported without your agreement, unless we are legally required to.

If you are reporting something urgent involving a risk to someone's safety, say so in the subject line.

11. Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy at any time, and we will do so as new risks appear - which, in this field, they do. The date at the top shows the current version. Please check it from time to time. Continued use of our Services after a change means you accept it.
