Cookie Policy

The cookies we use on ivee.jobs, why we use them, and how to control or withdraw your consent at any time.

Last update

1. Who we are

ivee is a trading name of IVY HQ LIMITED, company number 15104292, registered office 9 Claremont Road, Twickenham, England, TW1 2QX. Contact us at hello@ivee.jobs.

This policy explains the cookies we use on ivee.jobs. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers what we do with the data cookies collect.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your device on later visits and understand how the site is used.

We also use local storage and tracking pixels, which do similar things. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

3. Your consent

Under regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, we must get your consent before setting any cookie that is not strictly necessary.

We block non-essential cookies until you accept them. When you first visit, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies in section 4.1 runs. Our banner asks what you will allow, and rejecting is one click, exactly like accepting. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set.

Strictly necessary cookies are the exception and do not need consent. These are cookies the site cannot work without.

You can change your mind at any time - see section 5.

4. The cookies we use

We use two categories. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media tracking pixels or any technology that follows you across other websites, and we do not share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

4.1 Strictly necessary - always on

  • ivee_session (ivee) - keeps your session active as you move between pages. Expires: end of session.

  • ivee_cookie_consent (ivee) - remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again. Expires: 6 months.

  • __stripe_mid (Stripe) - fraud prevention on payments. Expires: 1 year.

  • __stripe_sid (Stripe) - fraud prevention on payments. Expires: 30 minutes.

4.2 Analytics - only with your consent

These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us and where things break. This category also includes session recording, which produces a replay of how you moved through our pages so we can see where the site is confusing or broken.

  • ph_phc_* (PostHog) - identifies a returning browser, records pages and features used, and enables session recording. Expires: 12 months.

  • ph_*_posthog (PostHog) - stores the anonymous identifier and event queue. Expires: local storage, until cleared.

  • _ga (Google Analytics) - distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires: 2 years.

  • _ga_<container-id> (Google Analytics) - maintains the analytics session state. Expires: 2 years.

  • _gid (Google Analytics) - distinguishes visitors over 24 hours. Expires: 24 hours.

About session recording. We mask text you type into form fields, so what you enter is not captured, and we exclude payment pages entirely. Recordings are deleted after 30 days. Session recording is part of the analytics category - if you accept analytics you accept session recording, and if you reject analytics neither runs.

How long analytics data is kept. PostHog event data for 12 months. Session recordings for 30 days. Google Analytics data for 14 months. IP anonymisation is enabled in Google Analytics.

Cookie names occasionally change when providers update their software. We review this list regularly - if you spot something on our site that is not listed, tell us at hello@ivee.jobs.

5. How to control cookies

Our cookie settings. Click Cookie settings in the footer of any page to change or withdraw your choices. Withdrawal takes effect immediately and the scripts stop running.

Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, though blocking all cookies will stop parts of our site working. See the help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.

Google Analytics specifically. Google publishes a browser add-on that blocks it on every site: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Refusing costs you nothing. You can browse the site, book programmes and buy from us with all non-essential cookies rejected. We just learn less about how the site is used.

6. Email and our app

Our marketing emails contain a tracking pixel that tells us whether the email was opened and which links were clicked. Turn off automatic image loading in your email client to prevent it, or unsubscribe using the link in any email.

The prompt improver application uses an analytics SDK rather than browser cookies. What it collects is set out in our Privacy Policy and in the privacy information shown inside the application.

7. Your rights and complaints

Cookie data can be personal data. Your rights over it - access, erasure, objection and the rest - are in section 12 of our Privacy Policy.

If you are unhappy, tell us at hello@ivee.jobs. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

8. Changes

We update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie. The date at the top shows the current version. If we introduce a new type of non-essential cookie, we will ask for your consent again rather than relying on your previous choice.
